William's Dorfklause is a village pub in Timmerlah, on the edge of Braunschweig, famous for schnitzels weighing 1.5kg before they're even breaded. The challenge is to eat two of them, each with fries and coleslaw. The prize is one of the most generous in Europe: if you manage it, the pub hosts 20 of your friends that same day.
What you'll be eating
Two giant schnitzels, each 1.5kg raw before breading, served with fries and coleslaw.
What you win
Eat both and you can invite 20 people to eat and drink at the pub's expense that day. Each giant schnitzel costs from €41.50.
Before you go
The second schnitzel is only brought out once the first is finished. Drinks are charged separately. Open Wednesday to Sunday evenings, so book ahead.
