Ravintola Karhunmäki is a lunch and steak restaurant in Joensuu, and its grill challenge comes in five levels. They start with 1.2kg of pork and beef steak and climb to a 5kg plate with chicken and a schnitzel on top. Every level has to be eaten in an hour, and the hall of fame includes some of the world's best known competitive eaters.

What you'll be eating

Grilled steak plates with potatoes and sauce. Level 1 is 600g of pork and 600g of beef (€70). Level 2 adds 600g of chicken (€100). Level 3 has 800g of chicken (€120). Level 4, the Atlas, adds a 250g schnitzel (€150). Level 5 has 1.2kg of chicken and the schnitzel, over 5kg in all (€170).

Before you go

Book by phone the day before. The plate must be completely empty and you can't leave the table. Each level can only be beaten once per person. The restaurant opens weekdays only, 10:00 to 14:00.
