Fraschetta La Romanella's 1.5kg Pasta Challenge

Fraschetta La Romanella is a Roman trattoria in Ostia, by the sea west of Rome, and its challenge is 1.5kg of dry pasta cooked as one of four Roman classics. That's before the water, sauce and cheese are added, and the carbonara uses around 30 eggs.

What you'll be eating

1.5kg (dry weight) of pasta as carbonara, amatriciana, gricia or aglio, olio e peperoncino.

What you win

Finish within 45 minutes and the €60 meal is free, plus a T-shirt, hat, key ring and trophy.

Before you go

Open Tuesday to Sunday. Don't confuse it with La Romanella near the Vatican.
